Benard's 4th Birthday Party

Today was Ben's birthday party. They all had fun and were full of sugar by the time we sent time home. This year was our first party with no parents and just kids Ben's age. It was a lot of fun.

The treats are ready just before the party guests arrive.

Lego heads, well, kind of.

A lego cake and lego candy. Yummy!

And of course as with our theme we played with lego.

Having a little pizza that the kids made themselves.

Ben blowing out his candles.

And of course eating all the yummy sugary stuff right before sending them all home.

SNOW DAY!!!

A little pre-snow breakfast!

I took them out in the snow and first thing they are trying to get into Auntie Rachel's house. Well I couldn't find gloves for Ben so I was knocking on the door to find out if they had any extra gloves, and they did.

Addison came to join us. She liked the snow a lot better this year, she couldn't move in her snow suit last year.

Papa in a tree

The boys love to watch papa work and when he comes to our house and cuts down a tree it is even better. We try and stay out of the way, but they just get so exited that it can get really hard sometimes.
Ben can't take his eyes off papa even to have his picture taken.

As you can tell Quinlan is looking past the camera to see papa in a tree with a chain saw.

You can't really see him, but there is my dad in the tree that is no longer in our yard.

Costumes

We don't really celebrate Halloween around here, but our kids (and us) love to dress up so we got them all dressed up this year for Ben's school costume party, trick or treating upstairs and next door and going to my basketball game. Here are just a few pictures of the boys going to the two houses we let them collect candy at.

Quinlan thought we were visiting at Auntie Rachel's house.

Quinlan Doesn't like his bed anymore!

This is where we find Quinlan at bedtime and at nap time. He goes to bed without a fuss and then turns the light on to play for a little while and then just falls asleep where he plays. Just this week he learned how to climb the ladder into Ben's bed and now we find him sleeping up there, because he can't get back down.

Quinlan climbing into Ben's bed is already a problem though, Ben pushed him out and poor Quin had a concussion. He went to the dr. three times this week because of falls. Crazy kid, but luckily so far nothing major has happened to either of the kids. Here's crossing our fingers for the future of having two boys.

Tomato Plants:(

So for those of you that were keeping track of my garden, it was a sad end.

My big goal this summer was to grow tomatoes and they grow and were beautiful plants, but no tomatoes. I think maybe we got three yellow tomatoes but non of the other ones. They were all really green, but really big and then it frosted and they all moulded within tow days.

Everything else grew great, so I guess it was sort of a success.

Hanging Out with Cousins

The boys have been having lots of fun with their cousins lately, some from far away like David and Jaclyn and one from just upstairs Addison. No matter how far they come from the boys have a good time playing and getting into stuff.

Ben Meets a Fire Truck

So, one day we were at the Dragon Fort eating some Chinese food and as we walked out we saw a fire truck with some hungry fire fighters in it. Most of the guys hoped out to get their take out, but one of the firemen was left with the truck and so Ben when up and introduced himself. This guy was so nice and friendly, Ben ended getting a tour of the entire truck. I was so cool and sooooooo cute. Now you'll have to guess what Ben wants to be when he grows up?

My garden a Few Weeks ago

Everything is much bigger by now, but I haven't posted anything about my garden in a while and these are the pictures that I had on the computer. My tomatoes are so big now and the zucchinis too, but the beans and peas are almost done.

The peas and beans were sooooo good fresh right out of the garden as a snack and cooked up with dinner.

The boys and I have been enjoying the carrots too.
