Well, I’m really not sure where to start? Mike was stuck in Abbotsford for an extra day, the bathroom flooded the first night I was here and now Ben might have the measles. Our first week here has been very eventful, and not in a good way.
Our car decided that last week the clutch would start to go. We didn’t realize what had happened until Saturday night when we took it on the freeway again. Emergency visit to our friendly neighborhood mechanic/elder was our first step. He thought maybe he could fix it enough for us to get tour new home, but when he finally saw it he had to get a new clutch and that meant that we had to wait until Monday to get the part. In end it took longer than even Randy thought and Mike got to Gardom Lake just before midnight on Monday.
I however decided to get a ride with my parents. They were going to help us bring everything up here, so we rearranged a bunch of stuff and Ben and I fit in the back seat. Thank you so much, I can’t imagine what Ben would have been like if we had to wait with Mike. Anyway, our trip was uneventful and I spent the afternoon/evening with Ryan and Joanne’s family. When Ben and I came back to our cabin to settle in for the night, I flooded the bathroom. I really felt silly, because I couldn’t fix it. In the end I ended up getting Ben out of bed and hiked with him on my back to Ryan and Joanne’s, then Ryan rescued me from my little flood.
What else? Oh yeah, I just thought that Ben had a rash last week and it went away mostly and this week I just thought he was cranky because we moved, but the “rash” came back. He seems to have the measles for all we know and I have exposed everyone here @ camp. Boy do I feel stupid, I should have gotten him checked out last week.
I’m really hoping that not all our weeks @ camp are this eventful. We are enjoying our time here and Mike loves getting his hands dirty and looking forward to the planning of the Encounter Program.
So far the people are very welcoming and we look forward to each day that we don’t have to eat leftovers. In other words the food is really good.
Please pray Ben recovers quickly, so he can get back to being himself. He isn’t even enjoying the adventuring outside right now. Also that through our time here that Christ will shine through us so we can do His work for the glory of His kingdom.
**We took Ben to the dr. today and he has a viral cold that lead to this rash that can look like measles.

It sounds like life is exciting at camp. Is Ben on medication for his cold? You shouldn't get bored with all the changes happening.

Glad to hear that there was a doctor that could see Ben on short notice. Hope he is feeling better soon and that you and Mike settle in quickly.

interesting..I hope Jonathan doesn't have that. He had a rash before he had a fever. That was last monday night and all through the next day. Then he started to seem himself again, but his rash got worse. Doc said good we came in and try Fucidin cream. How do you know if it's measles or not? Doesn't that look like chicken pox?
